Polyvinyl chloride, also known as PVC or vinyl, is the third most commonly used plastic behind polyethylene and polypropylene. Vinyl is versatile, durable, economical and easy to process, giving it broad appeal across markets and industries. PVC is an amorphous, non-hygroscopic material used in extrusion, injection molding and blow molding. PVC is manufactured in two forms: Rigid PVC is an unplasticized polymer known as vinyl, and Flexible PVC, known as plasticized PVC, is created by adding plasticizers to, for a softer, more flexible or rubber-like material.
