High-Performance, Renewable Film Resins

BioBlend® XP from BioLogiQ is a flexible resin family combining 50% plant-based NuPlastiQ® with various polyolefins to create sustainable resin blends for blown film applications. These blends enable high-performing, renewable-content films with impressive strength, clarity, and processing ease.

Why BioBlend® XP

Why BioBlend® XP

BioBlend® XP offers a seamless sustainability upgrade without sacrificing film quality or runnability. Blends are customizable with HDPE, LLDPE (including specialty metallocene grades), and even recycled LLDPE to support downgauging, create lower carbon products, and reduce microplastic potentialwhile maintaining compatibility with existing extrusion equipment.

Characteristics and Properties

BioBlend® XP resins combine sustainability with performance, offering a compelling alternative to traditional polyethylene-based films. Designed for converters looking to reduce fossil feedstocks without compromising quality or production efficiency, these resins support downgauging, enhance film strength, and run efficiently on standard extrusion lines. Their versatility make them suitable for a wide range of film applications—from packaging to agriculture.

  • Up to 50% Renewable Content: Combines equal parts NuPlastiQ® and partner polyolefin, reducing fossil-based content.
  • Strong Mechanical Profile: Blown films achieve MD tensile strength ~5,400 psi and elongation up to ~430%, plus TD performance for toughness.
  • Custom Melt Flow: Formulations available from low (0.3 g/10 min) to higher (~2.6 g/10 min) MFI, optimizing runnability and gauge control.
  • Easy Downgauging: Higher tensile strength enables film thickness reductions, cutting raw material use and emissions.
