Kurt Schuering

President and Chief Executive Officer

Kurt Schuering serves as president and chief executive officer of GPD Companies, Inc., a global holding company for Nexeo Plastics and Distrupol, bringing 30 years of experience and a proven track record in the chemical and distribution industries.  With a career spanning over 13 years at Poly One (now named Formerra), Kurt has held several key executive roles, including President of Distribution; Vice President of Commercial Excellence; and earlier in his career, General Manager – Automotive at SABIC/GE Plastics. 

Kurt’s appointment as the CEO of GPD Companies, Inc. marks a new chapter of growth and transformation for the organization.  His commitment to excellence, deep industry knowledge, and strategic insight are poised to drive the company forward, ensuring it remains at the forefront of the industry. 

Kurt holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Kentucky and a business degree from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. 

Michael Everett

Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

Michael Everett oversees all accounting, treasury, financial planning and reporting, and financial risk management for the company. He has more than 25 years of experience in financial operations, including progressive roles in the energy and financial services industries. Michael earned a Master of Science in Finance and Economics and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from West Texas A&M University, and has been a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) since 1997.

Jordi Armengol

Regional Chief Financial Officer, Europe, Middle East & Africa

Jordi Armengol is responsible for Finance in EMEA and ASIA. His experience spans more than 25 years in finance leadership roles, as well as other support functions (IT, human resources, legal, customer service representative). Jordi has worked in different industries from home care manufacturing to fast moving consumer goods. He holds University degrees in Business and Law, as well as a Master in Business Administration from IESE Barcelona Business School.

Pau Climent

Chief Supply Chain Officer

Pau Climent oversees the company’s supply chain, warehousing, distribution, safety and quality functions. He has extensive experience in supply chain and global operations excellence. Pau holds a Master of Business Administration from IE Business School in Madrid, Spain, a Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from ENSICA in Toulouse, France, and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from ETSEIB in Barcelona, Spain.

Sean Andersen

Vice President & General Manager, Specialties

Sean oversees the specialties sales and product line management teams as well as the corporate accounts and strategic commercial operations functions for North America. He is focused on delivering value for our suppliers and customers. He has over 20 years of experience in the plastics industry. Previously, Sean worked at Superior Plus Energy Services, serving as General Manager for North America. Prior to that, he worked for nearly 10 years in key leadership roles in sales and product line management at Nexeo Solutions, and for 12 years in progressive management positions at GE Plastics/SABIC.

Michelle Boven

Vice President and General Manager, Consumer and Packaging

Michelle Boven is a seasoned leader with over 25 years of experience in the market, currently overseeing the Consumer and Packaging business at Nexeo Plastics. She is dedicated to delivering exceptional value to suppliers and customers by developing and implementing growth strategies that align with evolving market dynamics. Michelle's extensive career includes key leadership roles at The Dow Chemical Company, where she served as Product Director, Global Business Director, and most recently, as Commercial Director for North America.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Michelle is passionate about giving back to the community. She serves as an advisory board member for Michigan Technological University’s College of Engineering, has been a board member for Katy Youth Basketball, and actively volunteers at the Houston Food Bank.

Joost d’Hooghe

Vice President, Sales – Europe, Middle East & Africa

Joost d’Hooghe is responsible for growing and expanding the company’s footprint across all existing and prospective vertical markets throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa. His experience spans more than 20 years of international B2B sales, operational development, and expertise in business development, sales, human resource development and capital projects management. Joost holds a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the Technical University of Delft in Delft, Netherland and an Executive Master of Business Administration from the Rotterdam School of Management.

Larry Hunt

VP Corporate Accounts and End Market Strategy

Larry oversees the strategic commercial services, including marketing, key end markets, and technical support. He has more than 35 years of experience in industrial and plastics industries, including roles in sales, sales management, global management and marketing. Larry holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University.

Carrie Rutherford

Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer

Carrie Rutherford has the global responsibility of the company’s human resources, legal and administrative operations. She has more than 25 years of experience in legal and administration, holding leadership roles in healthcare, legal and business services companies. Carrie holds a Juris Doctor from University of Houston Law Center and a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from St. Edward’s University.

Leon Suo

General Manager, Asia

As General Manager, Asia, Leon Suo is responsible for improving the sales strategy, growing and expanding the market share and products portfolio for Asia. He has more than 20 years of experience in sales and product management in international chemical and thermoplastics companies. He joined Nexeo plaschem in 2016, and has served as general manager since 2019. He holds a Bachelor of Chemistry from Peking University.

Kimberly Harris

Vice President, Treasurer

Kimberly Harris oversees treasury, corporate finance, financial risk management and shared services for the company. She has more than 25 years of experience in financial and accounting operations, including progressive roles in the energy industry as well as public accounting. Kimberly earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Wake Forest University and is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of North Carolina.
